My Journey with Redkite Solicitors – Sophie Jones

In our latest Career Spotlight, Partner Sophie Jones shares her journey of growth and leadership at Redkite Solicitors, from joining as a Legal Adviser to becoming Head of Personal Injury and Clinical negligence.

I first joined Redkite Solicitors in 2016 as a Legal Adviser, and looking back, I couldn’t have imagined how far that decision would take me. Since then, I’ve progressed through qualification in 2019, to an Associate, a Partner and now Head of Department. Today, I lead a team of 20 talented individuals across multiple offices and serve as the Regional Lead for Swansea.

When I first considered joining Redkite, what really stood out was the firm’s ambition. At the time, Redkite had just a few offices, but the growth plans were clear and exciting. I wanted to be part of something dynamic and forward-thinking.

From the beginning, I was given the freedom and trust to build and develop my team structure, creating sub-teams led by quality talent to ensure depth, focus, and progression within the department.

Redkite has always delivered on its promises. The senior partners have been transparent and supportive, providing mentoring, exposure to client work, and opportunities to develop my skills and leadership style. They’ve invested in me and, in turn, given me the platform to invest in others.

The culture here genuinely sets us apart. We handle complex, high-quality work with the same professionalism and output you’d expect from a large firm, but without losing the human touch. Approachability, collaboration, and flexibility are built into everything we do. We’re fully hybrid, and there’s a strong sense of trust.

As I prepare to welcome my first child, I’ve felt nothing but support and reassurance from my colleagues. I have complete confidence in returning to work with the same passion and sense of purpose that Redkite has helped me nurture.
