The Role

Reporting to the Company Secretary & General Counsel, the Group Head of Assurance is required to deliver and gain agreement to a risk management strategy which delivers a best practice internal audit service, which meets legislative requirements and is to the satisfaction of the audit committee.

The Person

The preferred candidate will either come from a big four accountancy firm within an internal audit / group risk function at the director level or from another FTSE 250 business that has been a head of, or deputy head of internal audit.

The individual must have a strong technical ability and an in depth knowledge of appropriate internal audit concepts, principles and practises in addition the necessary finance skills. The individual must be a confident leader, able to influence and manage change. Levels of presence, gravitas and credibility with senior management and the Audit Committee are essential.
